Here you will find some frequently asked questions as well as salon policies. I totally understand that this is a new experience and I am here to help ease those first-time butterflies. Chances are, most of these policies will never affect you, but they are in place to protect my business and all guests in the salon. Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

I am currently at Trend Setters Salon in Boone, Iowa. It is the cutest little brick building just east of downtown. Parking is available right outside the salon or in the public parking lot directly to the south of the salon.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Do not come to your appointment with extremely dirty hair. Light product is okay, but if you have a lot of oils, hairspray, or have used a root touch up spray, it can cause color to be splotchy or uneven. Please avoid wearing bulky clothing, especially around the neck and upper back area. If you are wearing a hoodie or turtleneck, you will be asked to remove them to prevent damage. Plain white, black, or neutral clothing (especially tops) are best when it comes to hair photography. 

What should I bring to my appointment?

I offer a variety of different drinks and snacks, so unless you have dietary restrictions, I have you covered there. I also offer headphones, phone chargers, and wifi if you need to get some work done while in the salon.

Policies

New Guest Booking Fee

All new guests or guests who I haven't seen in more than 12 months are required to pay a $50 booking fee. This fee goes towards appointment total, paid through invoice within 24 hours of appointment request. Failure to do so will result in the appointment's cancellation. No shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will forfeit their booking fee. 

Late Guests

Guests who are late may need to reschedule or forgo some services. For example, if time runs short, guests might not be able to receive a blow-dry & style. However, they will still be charged the full amount of the scheduled appointment. If rescheduling is necessary, the cancellation policy rebooking fee will be required. 

Cancellation 

All appointments require 48 hours notice of cancellation before the scheduled appointment time. Failure to give 48 hours notice will result in a 50% nonrefundable rebooking fee. This fee must be paid through invoice before a future appointment can be accepted. Because emergencies happen, one last-minute cancellation for true emergencies is allowed per guest. 

No-Show

Guests who no-show without communication will be required to pay a 100% rebooking fee for the missed appointment and may be required to prepay for any future appointments. The rebooking fee must be paid through invoice before a future appointment is accepted. Any new guests who no show will be denied future appointments. 

Fees

All fees are to be paid through invoice and are nonrefundable and nontransferable. 

Kids 

I love everyone's littles!! That being said, I respectfully ask that no children under the age of 14, except those receiving services, accompany guests to the salon. After all, the salon should be a relaxing, distraction free environment for everyone. 

Payment of Services

All payments are due at the end of service. Cash and all major debit and credit cards are accepted. If a guest is unable to complete payment at the end of the appointment, it is considered theft of service and legal action will be taken. The guest would be responsible for all court fees and any other expenses required to receive payment for those services. 

Protect your Investment

Guests who choose not to use professional home care products purchased at the salon understand that I can not guarantee the longevity of their services once they leave the salon. All product or extension sales are final, but can be exchanged within 72 hours if the product is unopened. 

Redo

Guests have a 72 hour window to contact me if they believe their result did not match the one discussed in the consultation. If the discussed result is no longer what the guest desires, it is not considered a redo and will be charged accordingly. Only under very specific circumstances will a refund of services be offered.

Confirmation of Appointments

Please confirm your appointment through text or email. This confirmation secures your appointment.

Hair Photography

I love taking pictures of before and after transformations. Most will be used for social media, website design, and other marketing tools. By allowing me to photograph your hair, you grant me consent use them in these ways. Feel free to tag and share pictures! Pictures that include a guest's face are never required, but always fun!
